Jonathan Sherrard died of hyper IgE syndrome (HIES). In his memory his friends and family have established a fund to assist doctors, nurses and scientists who are UK-PIN members further their knowledge of primary immune deficiencies.
Awards, each of up to £2000, are intended to support research or development of clinical practice in the field of primary immune deficiency and are open to attend centres of excellence and practical workshops and courses worldwide. Preference is given to those in training posts or further education but, in special circumstances, members with consultant status (either CCT, consultant clinical scientist, or consultant nurse practitioner) will also be considered.
This award is organised in collaboration with UKPIPS, a support group for patients with primary immune deficiency, and will be administered through the UK-PIN visiting scholar scheme. For further details please visit http://www.ukpin.org.uk/awards/visiting-scholar-award
